I found my sport.

The sport of Bush Diving is not for everyone.

It's called bush diving. Apparently, I'm pretty good at it, so I thought I would share my technique. My secret is to drink excessive amounts of wine (for me, that means at least one bottle by myself). It is then important to find an appropriate bush. The bush must be strong enough to hold your weight, and not be too prickly (rose and blackberry bushes are out of the question). The trick is to have reached a level of intoxication that will allow you to ignore the fact that there are numerous spider webs scattered throughout your chosen bush. In fact, if enough wine is consumed, the spider webs will become invisible, and therefore will cease to be an issue. Once the bush is located, it is wise to throw an item into the bush to provide extra incentive. Obviously, the greater the value of the object, the more incentive there is to make the dive.

The dive itself will come easily if the above criteria are met. It is best to take the dive at a bit of a run, so the landing will be as dramatic as possible. Once in the bush, I personally enjoy writhing around a bit to ensure that my spectators (friends) get a good show. An attempt to recover the tossed object is optional, but recommended. Once you finally make your way out of the bush (or once you are pulled out by your friends), take a good sniff of your clothing. It should smell pine-fresh...Well, if you dive into a pine-y bush, that is.

So there you have it. Good luck, and let me know if you need any help with your first dive!

I'm not a skank, even on Halloween.

Fore! My Halloween Costume. (365 Days, Day 35)

I hate girls who dress up as total skanks, just because it's Halloween and it's "accepted." I say, if you are a skank one day out of the year, chances are you are a skank the other 364 days, so why not dress that way every day.

Oh, and this is a pic of me in my costume, right after I won $50 in our office costume contest! Yay for free money!

I love my friends.

This is us after 3 bottles of wine.

Cassi and Colleen are the BEST...I love them!

And if you happen to know what I've been through with friends over the past 29 years, you will know that this is a rare thing for me to say!

365 Days: Self Portrait Project

Hairy me. (365 Days, Day 25)
Originally uploaded by lordog.

I hate taking pictures of myself. I prefer photographing random land- and sea-dwelling creatures, including but not limited to my pets. That being said, you'll be surprised to notice that I have joined a group called "365 Days" on Flickr. I stumbled across it while randomly Flickr-ing one day, and figured that it would be an interesting challenge for me. I mean, why not commit to something that I do not enjoy doing, will take a year to complete, and require time, planning and creativity?

As it turns out, I have begun to enjoy it a bit. I had the most difficult time posting the first photo. It made me cringe to be posting a "serious" photo of myself (meaning that I am not intoxicated or making a funny face). After the first few posts, however, my discomfort diminished significantly, partly due to a very supportive group of other 365-ers. I'm starting to automatically sense a self-portrait opportunity, so my photos are (IMHO) getting a bit more interesting.

I'm on day 29, and looking back on my set of self portraits thus far, I can't believe I've come up with something new to do every day for a month. I'm still not sure how I'm going to pull it off for 11 more months, but I guess that's part of the challenge.

Good god, I have a blog.

I have no idea who would want to view this piece of trash of a blog, but I am easily amused, so why not just start one anyway, I say. I will be photoblogging from flickr most of the time, because it's my favorite site and I can blog directly from it. Ok, well that's all I have to say right now. Bye.
